  Tokaanu Wharf is a Wharf(pier, jetty, whatever you call it) which extends out roughly 100m Into Lake Taupō. It will take you maybe 2-5 minutes to get from the start to the furthest point on the wharf. Here, you may find people fishing for Catfish, as the area around the wharf is quite shallow and weedy, so swimming is not advised.
  The road leading to the wharf is a dirt road caked in potholes so make sure you take your time on the road. But all and all, fantastic views especially at sundown.
